IBM Db2 Connector
IBM DB2 enforces its own tight character limits — especially for database names and passwords — more strictly than most other databases. This guide covers exactly what Mobio expects for each field.

Follow these rules exactly for a successful connection:
- Database Name — Very short: typically up to 8 characters. Db2 usually converts database names to UPPERCASE automatically. No spaces. No special characters. If your server’s database name is uppercase but you enter it in lowercase in Mobio, the connection will always fail.
- Hostname/IP — Up to 253 characters: IPv4 (e.g.,
127.0.0.1) or an FQDN. IPv6 isn’t supported. Remove any leading/trailing spaces. - Port — Any positive integer from 1–65535.
- Username — 8–128 characters. Note: if your server uses IBM OS Authentication, the username is limited to 8 characters.
- Password — Db2’s own rule: never include spaces. Only these special characters are allowed:
