Configure Account Sync Rules

Define the conditions under which an Account (company) is recorded in Mobio, based on its data source.

1. Overview

  • Definition: Configure identifier fields to determine when an Account from a given source gets recorded in Mobio.
  • Value: Automates the identification and classification of Accounts from external systems (CRM, Order Management, or file imports), ensuring accurate B2B data.
  • Users: System Admin, Sales Ops.

2. Terminology & Configuration Parameters

  • Tax Code — The primary identifier for businesses in Vietnam.
  • CIF — A customer identifier commonly used in banking and financial industries.
  • Account Name — The legal name of the organization.
  • External System ID — An Account identifier used on other platforms (e.g., Banking Data Warehouse, ERP).

3. Prerequisites

  • Permissions: Your Mobio account must have the INTEGRATION RBAC permission: Settings > Workspace Settings > Data Sync > Account Sync Rules. View RBAC access permission instructions here.

4. Step-by-Step Instructions

4.1. Add a New Data Source

  1. On the list screen, click + Add new Data Source.
  2. Enter a Source Name.
Important: You cannot rename or delete a source after saving.
  3. Configure the Sync Rules for the source:
    • Select the required identifier fields (e.g., Account Name).
    • Click + Add fields to add another field with an AND condition (e.g., Account Name AND Phone number).
    • Click + Add condition group to create a new group with an OR logic (e.g., Group 1: Name + Phone OR Group 2: Name + Tax Code).
  4. Click Save.

4.2. Configure Default Sync Rules

If incoming data does not include source information, or the source has no configured rules, Mobio falls back to the Default Source rules.

  1. Select the Default Configuration tab.
  2. Under Default Source, select a source from the dropdown (e.g., Other, or Import from file).
  3. Click Save.

5. Operational Rules

  • Use cases: Account sync supports storing data about partners, suppliers, related legal entities, and agents.
  • Consent not applicable: Account sync does not require Consent settings. Unlike Profiles, Accounts represent business entities — not individuals — so personal data regulations do not apply.

6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Q: Why doesn’t Account sync have a Consent step?
    • A: Accounts are business entities, not individuals. Consent settings only apply to Profiles, which represent individual people.
