Configure and Sync Address Data

Map unstandardized address data from your sources to Mobio's standardized address format automatically.

1. Overview

  • Definition: Automatically map unstandardized address data from various sources (e.g., Excel, Webhooks) to Mobio’s standardized address format.
  • Value: Ensures consistent administrative data across Mobio, eliminates manual standardization, and improves accuracy for regional data analysis.
  • Users: System Admin, Data Analyst.

2. Terminology & Configuration Parameters

  • Address Code — A unique identifier for each administrative unit (e.g., VNM#1# for Hanoi).
  • Administrative divisions: Country, Province, District, Ward.
  • User Value — The raw address variations from users’ sources (e.g., Hanoi, Hnoi, hanoi).
  • Standard Address — The official address value on Mobio (e.g., Thành phố Hà Nội).

3. Prerequisites

  • Permissions: Your Mobio account must have the INTEGRATION RBAC permission: Settings > Integration > Address. View RBAC access permission instructions here.
  • Access Path: Go to SettingsData IntegrationData SyncAddress.

4. Step-by-Step Instructions

4.1. Map Addresses manually

Use this method to manually add a few individual mapping values.

  1. Click the Edit icon (pencil) next to the address you want to configure.
  2. In the panel that appears on the right, click + Add new.
  3. Enter the unstandardized address value (e.g., “Hnoi”).
  4. Click Save.

4.2. Bulk Map Addresses via Excel File

Use this method to configure a large number of addresses across multiple provinces at once.

  1. On the Address screen, click Sync Address (top right).
  2. Select “Template Address List” to download the template file.
  3. Open the file, locate the correct standard address row, and enter the unstandardized value in the User Value column.
  4. Return to Mobio, then drag and drop the completed file into the upload area, or click Choose file.

5. Operational Rules

  • Excel file structure: Do not modify columns 1–6 (Address Code, Level, Country, Province, District, Ward). Mobio uses these columns to correctly identify records.
  • Result notification: Mobio sends an email notification with the processing result (Succeeded / Failed) within a few minutes, depending on file size.
  • Scope: Once configured, all data recorded from any source in the future is automatically standardized according to your mapping rules.

6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Q: If I delete a mapping, will my existing data be affected?
    • A: No. Mapping changes only apply to data recorded in Mobio from that point forward.

7. Next Steps

After setting up address mapping, try uploading a Profile file with unstandardized address fields to verify the rules are working correctly. See Create and Manage Profiles.
