Manage Connectors: SDK (Auto-create)

Some data doesn't come from a file you upload or a form someone fills out — it's generated the moment a customer clicks, scrolls, or opens your app. The SDK Connector captures that behavioral data automatically, with nothing for you to set up.

1. Overview

  • Definition: Collects customer engagements (clicks, page views, and more) from your mobile app (SDK App) or website (SDK Web).
  • Core difference: Unlike Database or API Connectors, you cannot manually create an SDK Connector. Mobio automatically generates it the moment you successfully integrate a new platform.
  • Users: IT (system setup), CDP Admin.

2. Terminology & Configuration Parameters

  • SDK Web — A code snippet embedded in your website to capture engagements.
  • SDK App — A toolkit embedded in your mobile app’s source code (iOS/Android).

3. Prerequisites

To have Mobio auto-generate an SDK Connector, complete one of the following first:

4. Step-by-step instructions

This process is fully automatic — you don’t need to do anything. Once you meet the prerequisite, Mobio runs the following steps in the background:

Step 1: Create the source and assign a name

  • When you finish integrating a website or mobile app through Mobio’s SDK, Data Flow automatically creates a matching connector (classified as SDK Web or SDK App) in the list — no manual setup required.
  • The connector name defaults to the website or app name you declared earlier.

Step 2: Auto-fill the Sync Rules

  • Target entity: Every SDK Connector defaults to syncing data into Profile – Event tracking.
  • Connection status: Automatically turned ON, with the sync mechanism set to Streaming.
  • Identify Profile & Consent: Mobio automatically sets Tracking, Analytics, and Marketing Consent to YES and applies default identity rules (see Identity Resolution for details).

Step 3: View Connector details

  • Even though you can’t create it manually, you can still view and manage it. Go to Settings → Data Integration → Data Flow.
  • On the Data Flow screen, SDK App and SDK Web appear as two separate data source groups, collapsed by default. Click a group to expand the list of connectors inside it.
  • From that expanded list, you can turn each connector’s connection ON/OFF or view its sync rules.

5. Operational Rules

  • N/A

6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Q: Why can’t I click the SDK Web or SDK App source type in the Add New menu?
    • A: Those options are disabled because Mobio only generates SDK Connectors automatically — you can’t create one manually and attach a Web/App to it afterward.
