Create and Manage Profiles
1. Overview
- Definition: This article provides methods for importing customer data into the system and administering Profiles (Update, Export, Delete Profiles).
- Access path: CDP → Identified Profiles.
2. Terminology & Parameters
- Data mapping: Map columns in the Excel file to the system’s exact fields.
- Reason for deleting Profile: Mandatory information when deleting a Profile for data control purposes (Audit log).
3. Prerequisites
- Permission: The Mobio account must be granted RBAC permission: PROFILING > CDP > Profiles > Identified Profiles. See instructions on granting RBAC access here.
4. Step-by-step Instructions
4.1. Create Profile manually
Use when adding a single customer to the system:
- Step 1: Click Create new Profile.
- Step 2: Select Create individually.
- Step 3: Enter mandatory identification information: full name, phone number, or email.
- Step 4: Enter additional customer attributes (if any).
- Step 5: Click Continue.
- Step 6: Configure consent information.
- Step 7: Click Save.
Note: System administrators or authorized users can specify which fields are mandatory when creating a new Profile.
4.2. Bulk Data Administration (Import & Export)
Import Profile list
- Step 1: Click Create new Profile.
- Step 2: Select Upload file.
- Step 3: Upload the data file (.xlsx) or paste data.
- Step 4: Perform Mapping (The system will automatically suggest matching fields with the same name).
- Step 5: Click Continue.
- Step 6: Configure consent information.
- Step 7: Check mapping conditions and click Confirm to import data into the system.
Notes on uploading data file:
- Accept .xlsx format only.
- Maximum capacity is 10MB/file.
- Maximum 50,000 rows/file.
- Allow uploading multiple files continuously; the system processes sequentially.
- If the file has multiple sheets, separate each sheet into a separate file.
- The first row in the file must contain column names.
- Recommended to use Mobio’s sample file. Do not use files exported directly from other platforms/systems to avoid format errors.
Notes on pasting data:
- Do not paste column names (first row).
- Allow pasting a maximum of 1,000 rows.
After a successful upload, the system displays a notification pop-up and sends an email to the user when the processing is complete. Check the file upload results at the File Upload Connector Report.
Export Profile list
- Step 1: Use filters to select the customer segment to extract data.
- Step 2: Click Export.
- Step 3: Select the fields to export (Displayed fields or All fields).
- Step 4: Click Download to receive the file.
Note on Export:
- If the Profile list exceeds 1,000 rows, the system sends the file export results via email.
- If the Profile list is under 1,000 rows, the file downloads directly to the device.
Delete Profile
Note: Deleting a personal customer profile is irreversible. The system will remove all related data links.
- Step 1: Go to the Profile details screen, or select multiple Profiles to delete in the list (maximum 100 Profiles/selection).
- Step 2: Click the Trash icon (Delete).
- Step 3: Enter the reason for deleting the Profile in the content box (mandatory).
- Step 4: Click Delete.
5. Operation Rules & Notes
- Consequences of deletion: When deleting a Profile, all links with other objects, such as Accounts, Opptys, Tickets, and Tasks, are completely removed.
- Profile synchronization rule: When creating a Profile, if the Profile meets the Synchronization Rule, the system updates new information to the old Profile. Otherwise, the system creates a new Profile. See details at Configure Profile Synchronization Rule.
6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Q: Why can’t I delete a Profile?
A: Check the account permissions. You might only have view permissions without the permission to delete profiles. - Q: Why doesn’t the number of profiles after import match the number of rows in the file?
A: Because some Profiles already exist in the system, the system merges data instead of creating duplicate Profiles.
