Bounce rate in Email Marketing is the rate at which emails are broken. Broken emails are emails that return to the sender, possibly because the recipient’s address doesn’t exist or isn’t working… Reputable email servers in the world such as Amazon, Sendgrid or Mailchimp… all refuse to provide services to units with a bounce rate exceeding 5%. If this rate exceeds this number, users definitely need to review their email data.
Basically, email bounce rate is divided into 2 types: hard-bounce and soft-bounce:
- Hard-bounce emails: are emails that do not exist, have been locked, have the wrong address or are under a mode of not receiving emails from bulk email servers (Unsubscribe).
- Soft-bounce emails: are emails that are full, the email server is overloaded, inactive, or the email is too large, the content is too heavy.
Currently, on the Mobio system, users can fully view and control their email data by using the Email bounce filter.
To access the Email bounce filter, do the following:
Step 1: Go to the CDP Menu → Profiles, click on Profiles → Filter
Step 2: In the General filters group→ select Email bounce
Here, the system displays the bounced emails with the results returned by the Mail Server:
